Day 151: New Jersey Strawberries - May 31. Love fresh strawberries. One of these packages was destined to be the star in a strawberry -blueberry shortcake dessert for me.
Day 150: NY Skyline Afternoon - May 30. Pretty blue skies and puffy clouds with sailboats on the Hudson River - the calm before the storms. Yesterday rain and repeated thunderstorms. Today constant rain and fog. We definitely need the rain so it is a good thing.
Day 149: Iris SunsetBlaze - May 29. This lovely iris, introduced for sale in 1948, is just one of many historic irises that are planted in the Presby Memorial Iris Garden. At the rate that I'm going, It will take weeks to sort through the many photos that I took. I like to find the correct names of each one of the photos that I decide to keep for my files and it is a time consuming job.
Day 148: Rose Portrait - May 28 Passed by a lovely blooming rose bush this morning while out for a morning walk. Roses ranged from pale yellow to warmer yellow and then reached this color combination when opened up. Bush was inside a fenced yard so could only get a picture of this one which was closest to the fence. Liked the delicate pink and yellow tones accenting the white.
Day 147: Yellow and White Iris - May 27. An iris portrait from the Presby Memorial Iris Garden. Today was just one of those days - started out overcast and I decided to go back to the garden for a few more photos. Car trouble on the way there. Took my photos and problems continued on the way back home. Finally had to have car towed to service. Back home, finally, after 4 in the afternoon. Downloaded my new photos and found that I can't get to them via PS. The folder with the new images is on my computer but Photoshop doesn't see it. Now don't know what to do. Meantime, dreading the call tomorrow when I will learn what the car problem is and the cost of repair. Did get some good photos if I can figure out how to access them.
Day 146: Farm Market Vegetables - May 26. So nice to see our neighborhood farm market stand back for the summer and early fall. It consists of only one stand but it is a treat to have a supply of freshly picked produce from New Jersey farms available each Sunday morning.
Day 145: Memorial Day Tribute - May 25 in honor of the service men, women and animals lost while defending the freedom and values that our flag stands for. .
Day 144: NY Skyline Memorial Day Colors - May 24. New York's Empire State Building lit in USA red, white and blue for the Memorial Day weekend. Here the sundown gold lingers on the skyline buildings as the city lights go on.
Day 143: Iris Garden - May 23. Love visiting this garden each year when the irises are in bloom. Presby Memorial Iris Garden, located in Montclair, NJ, is about a 40 drive for me and when I get there I could spend hours with such a huge variety of flowers to enjoy and photograph. Filled up my memory card with iris portraits and can't wait to get back next week since there are still many buds that have not opened as yet.
Day 142: US Air Force Thunderbirds NYC - May 22. Happy Memorial Day weekend!! A shot of six U.S. Air Force F-16 Thunderbirds in the skies over the Hudson River as part of a flyover around New York City. Thanks to all who commented on my USS San Antonio in NYC posts.

Day 140: USS San Antonio - May 20. This navy ship was one of the ships of the U.S. military services that will be participating in Fleet Week around New York City for the weekend. Here she is seen, this morning, cruising northward up the Hudson River past the Freedom Tower (One World Trade Center) in lower Manhattan.
Day 139: Flowers to Plant - May 19. Ready to go into pots in my little balcony garden..
Day 138: White Dogwood - May 18. White dogwood flowers framed against a blue sky - a light Topaz paint filter. The last of the dogwood for this year - wish that the flowers would last a little longer. But on to the next opening blossoms. I'm behind in my processing and a day behind in my posts. Need to get caught up.
Day 137: Lilac Blossoms - May 17.
Day 136: Spring Garden - May 16. A section of the gardens of the Van Vleck House and Gardens in Montclair, New Jersey. Most of the property is woodland type gardens with mountain laurel, azalea, and rhododendron shrubs but this one section is a more formal perennial garden. The property was owned by three generations of the Van Vleck family until 1996 when it was gifted to the Montclair Foundation.
Day 135: Pink Rhododendron - May 15. Thanks to everyone who has posted such nice comments about my flower photos of the past few days. I live in a very congested urban area where there is not a lot of greenery or parkland so I am thoroughly enjoying doing a treasure hunt of sorts each day to find beautiful spring blooming flowers to photograph.
Day 134: Peach Rose and Blue Sky - May 14. This beautiful peach-orange rose was at the top of a rosebush set in a patio planter taller than my height. It forced me to take a photo of a rose from a different perspective - always fun.
Day 133: Hot Pink Geranium - May 13. A close up view of a very pretty deep pink geranium plant.
Day 132: Pink Peony - May 12. I love peonies. This is the first, and so far only, peony that I've seen this year. Hope to find more.

Day 126: NYC Public Library Lions - May 6. The two well-loved NYC Public Library Lions, Patience and Fortitude, stand guard over the entrance to the Beaux-Arts building on Fifth Avenue framed by beds of tulips and the spring greens of the grass, shrubs and trees beginning to leaf out.

Day 124: Kazan Cherry Blossoms - May 4. Several of these lovely ornamental cherry trees are in bloom around my neighborhood. The flowers, with several layers of petals and variety of pink tones, are pretty to see close up.
Day 123: Orange Gerbera Daisies - May 3. These lovely flowers were just one of the beautiful plants available at a fundraising event being held at a historic NJ house and garden this weekend.
Day 122: Tulip Garden - May 2. Interesting that I've seen a lot of yellow tulips this year but not many other colors as yet. These tulips are part of the landscaping at a local hotel. While photographing them, I was approached by a young man in business attire who questioned (nicely) what I was doing and asked if I was a guest of the hotel. When I said no, I expected him to say that I couldn't photograph on the grounds. But he wished me a nice day and went back inside the hotel. A few minutes later, he brought me a bottle of cold water and said that I could come photograph any time. What a nice representative of this Renaissance Hotel NJ Meadowlands.
Day 121: Yellow-Orange Tulip Portrait - May 1. Happy May everyone. Hope it is a wonderful month for all..
