Day 157: Farmstead Performing Arts Center - June 7. A long, busy day yesterday. The highlight was seeing my granddaughter perform as Becky,Tom Sawyer's girl friend, in a super production of "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer." A superb cast and great job by all. Part of the fun was that the show was performed in this historic barn. The farmstead was purchased fifteen years ago by the township as part of a farm preservation initiative. The buildings, constructed in the late 1700s, have been converted for use in supporting the arts. The barn has been restored and has a stage for performances. The farm house which is located out of sight behind the barn is used to hold art classes and display art. As funds allow, other buildings are being restored a bit at a time. It these days of so much construction for homes and business, it is nice to know that efforts are being made to save old historic farms such as this one.
Day 156: Coral Geranium Flower - June 6. Found this beautiful color geranium plant while out for a walk when the rain stopped yesterday. So interesting how a flower that looks as though it is a uniform color has so much variation when you view it up close. This is a very close up shot of just a part of the round flower head.
Day 155: Pink Peony Portrait - June 5.
