Day 176: Abstract Art in the Park - June 26. This is an abstract image of part of a very large sculpture structure installed at Madison Square Park in NYC. It consists of 8 groups of cut-out disk shapes of mirrored metal that form a canopy covering 800 feet of the pathways of the park. The disks reflect the trees and greenery, the paths, the people walking on the paths and in some areas the buildings nearby. The combination of the real greenery, the sky (in this case white on a cloudy day), the shapes of the metal, the structure supporting the discs, the colors of people walking below, etc. make for an endless array of abstract photo opportunities. I have many images to sort through. The artist is Teresita Fermandez. Here is a link with information about her https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teresita_Fern%C3%A1ndez
