Day 243: Farm Market Peppers. - August 31. Tempting orange and yellow peppers at our Sunday farm Market as my last post for August. Yesterday a neighborhood power outage but all seems to be back to normal this morning

Day 242: NY Skyline-August Full Moon - August 30. The full moon over the New York Skyline on Saturday evening. It was a bit cloudy so wasn't sure if the moon would show as it came over the horizon but it did eventually.

Day 241: Sunfower Field - August 29. Another sunflower field in bloom, this one in Hackettstown New Jersey.

Day 240: Marshland Trail - August 28. A beautiful day for a walk around the marshland waters in the New Jersey Meadowlands.

Day 239: Wildflower Field - August 27. This is only a section of a large piece of land devoted to wildlife and native plant preservation. This section if filled with goldenrod but other areas have dozens of varieties of native species of wildflowers and summer grasses.

Day 238: Sunflowers - August 26. A perfectly beautiful summer day today - a great day to grab some sunshine and fresh air at noontime I think these sunflowers agree - they look so bright and cheerful.

Day 237: Monarch Butterfly - August 25. So happy to finally see a Monarch butterfly. My first this summer.

Day 236: Farm Market Display - August 24 A shot from yesterdays' neighborhood farm market. Thanks to those who answered my question about SM. I have to say that I am becoming less and less satisfied with what SM offers given what the cost is.

Day 235: NY Skyline-Time Warner Towers at Sundown - August 23. Beautiful warm light on the New York Skyline and Time Warner Towers last evening at the start of sunset. A particularly nice photo opportunity with the golden light on the buildings bouncing off into the waters of the Hudson River with a sailboat for perspective. Has the Daily Photos home page been discontinued? Last night and again this morning when I logged on to comment, the page did not appear.

Day 234: Hoboken NJ and Hudson River - August 22 I've posted this scene before - I think last time was during the winter when the river was coated with ice. So here is a summer version with blue skies and puffy clouds including an approaching rain squall. The city of Hoboken NJ in the foreground with Jersey City in the background on the right and Lower Manhattan and 1 World Trade Center on the left. In the far distance, New York Harbor and Staten Island on the horizon.

Day 233: Petunias Magenta - August 21.

Day 232: N.J. Meadowlands Landscape - August 20. Happy to learn that my 'go to' park in the New Jersey Meadowlands (Mill Creek Park) has been reopened after being shut down since the spring for repairs to the trails. The park sustained a lot of damage during Hurricane Sandy with many trees down and the trails eroded. While major clean-up and urgent repairs had been done, there was still a lot of damage to the banks on the sides of the trails and to sections of the trails. Nice to have it back for walks around the marshland waters.

Day 231: Patio Planter with Lantana Flowers r- August 19. Yellow and Magenta Lantana Flowers in a patio pot (not mine) with a very light Paint filter.

Day 230: Butterfly-Zabulon Skipper- August 18. A tiny little Zabulon Skipper butterfly on a Lantana flower. Still not seeing any Monarchs or Viceroys or any of the larger butterflies.

Day 229: Farm Market Eggplant Display- August 17. Another image from yesterday's farm market visit. Thanks to all who posted comments on my tomato image. They were delicious.

Day 228: Farm Fresh Tomatoes New Jersey - August 16. Its that time of year when fresh-picked New Jersey tomatoes are abundant and very delicious. At the farm market this morning - all shapes and sizes of both red and yellow tomatoes were available.

Day 227: New York Skyline Black and White - August 15. Beautiful pre-sundown skies and lighting contrast on the skyline buildings sort of cried out for a black and white presentation in my mind.

Day 226: Pearl Crescent Butterfly - August 14 Still not seeing any of the large butterflies but did find this little Pearl Crescent at mid-day today on a Black-eyed Susan with his shadow.

Day 225: Pale Pink Hibiscus Flower - August 13

Day 224: NY Skyline Sundown - August 12. Heavy rain for much of the day yesterday but a pretty, although hazy, sundown by the end of the day. Computer issues yesterday - sorry didn't get to comment.

Day 223: Red Daylily - August 11. Most of the daylilies have finished their bloom time for this year but came across a few pretty red ones yesterday.
