Day 243: Sleeping Angel - September 4. Thanks so much to those of you who read my post yesterday and voted for my photo contest entry. I appreciate your support very much. As of this morning, it still ranks quite a bit behind other enries since I entered it at such a late date but you can vote again today and tomorrow. This sweet little sleeping angel is one of a pair that sit atop entry pillars at the doorway of an older house in my neighborhood. The front yard to the home is fenced and the two pillars have been obscured by high schrubs. Yesterday, when I walked by the gate was open and I noticed the angels for the first time. A man who was working in the yard allowed me to go in to get a photo. According to him they are at least 100 years old.

Day 242: Snowy Egrets - September 3. Decided to get out for a walk yesterday morning before the rain began. Came across these snowy egrets feeding in the still water in NJ Meadowlands. Fortunately I had my bag of lenses in the car so was able to change lenses and get back to where I saw them for a few shots before they flew off to another spot. The rain began just as I got back to the car.
