Day 213: Pink Hibiscus - July 31. Took this photo in my sister's garden where there were numerous hibicus plants with blossoms almost as large as dinner plates. I've never seen such large hibiscus flowers - they were beautiful.

Day 212: NY Skyline Sundown - July 30. I can't resist beautiful skies. This was taken at the beginning of the golden hour when sundown light turns the skyline buildings into a warm gold. It was pouring rain only 30 minutes before.

Day 211: NW New Jersey Warren County - July 29. Drove through a driving rainstorm yesterday evening from a family party. Just as the storm was clearing, I came to a scenic overpass and stopped briefly to grab a few shots of the beautiful soft light across the mountain and farmland below.

Day 210: New York Skyline Olympic Colors - July 28. Curing the Olympic Games, the Empire State Building will be lit in the colors of countries participating in the Games. Last night the countries acknowledged were China (Red, Yellow, Red) on the West side, India on the East side, France on the North side and Portugal on the South side. Wish I had a way to get a photo of every country. If viewed in very large size, you can see a tiny bit of the colors on the North and South sides.

Day 209: New York City Approaching Storm - July 27. Huge thunderstorm approaches New York City and metropolitan area about 8 o'clock last night. As dark as late night where the clouds were passing over. Minutes later, the entire view was obscured by the rain and dark. Image converted to black and white.

Day 207: Butterflies Silver-spotted Skippers - July 25. Went out a noontime yesterday to try for more butterfly images but the windy conditions made it difficult for me and others who were also trying. Fortunately, the best opportunity for a photo (in my mind) came at a moment of brief stillness and I was able to get this duo. Actually the original image is horizontal with the butterflies handing upside down but it makes my dizzy to look at it that way so I rotated the image.

Day 205: Mill Creek Marsh NJ Meadowlands - July 23. A beautiful summer day yesterday - perfect for a nice walk in the NJ Meadowlands.

Day 204: Monarch Butterfly - July 22. A perfect summer day yesterday and so happy to get outside again to photograph. THANK YOU to all who commented on my abstract image posted yesterday and the skyline. For anyone curious about the green abstract triptych posted earlier in the week, it is a macro shot of the husk of an ear of corn.

Day 203: Abstract - Blowing in the Wind - July 21. Rainy and very windy all day yesterday. Decided to go with the flow and create an abstract of a flower blowing in the wind.

Day 202: NY Skyline - Summer in the City - July 20. A litttle interpretive expression here. Dreary grey day yesterday - took a skyline photo intending to post it in black and white for today's PAD. But was bored and decided to play so this is the result.

Day 201: Pink Phlox - July 19. Saw a small cluster of these pretty pink flowers along the road and stopped to grab my picture for the day yesterday before the storms began.

Day 200: Peaches - July 18. So nice to have fresh, New Jersey grown produce. Time to start taking country rides to look for farm stands and sweet corn.

Day 198: Nature Abstract in Green - July 16. Sometimes it is fun to look at things from a different perspective. I was drawn to the shades of green and the lines in this item. Any guesses what it is?

Day 197: Abstract Heat Wave - July 15. Stuck at home all day waiting for a repair person who never came. Amused myself by working on some abstract photographs.

Day 196: Pastel Pink Daylily - July 14. Saw a patch of these lovely pastel day lilies in the parking lot of a local shopping mall.

Day 195: Northern Mockingbird- July 13. Caught this Mockingbird yesterday while on a mid day walk in the NJ Meadowlands.

Day 194: Black-eyed Susans - July 12. If you view in large size you will see a small Red Adminal butterfly perched on one of the flowers.

Day 193: Black Swallowtail Butterfly - July 11. This beautiful black swallowtail was my butterfly find of the day yesterday at mid day.

Day 192: Monarch Butterfly - July 10. Another Monarch sighting yesterday at noontime. So beautiful.
