Day 365: NY Skyline Dawn - Dec 31. Nature put on a gorgeous show this morning at dawn, the last day of 2012. This post is the completion of my second year of posting photos in this daily community. Thanks to all for the support that you provide with you comments.

Day 364: NY Skyline Sundown Departing Cruise Ship- Dec 30. I had so hoped to finish out this year of daily photos with a beautiful snow scene. But all we had yesterday was about a half hour of flurries and lots of rain, even though there was plenty of snow to the north and west of us.

Day 363: World Trade Center I - Dec 29. Waiting for the snow to begin. Haven't posted an update on this buiding in a while. The floor construction has been topped out at 105 floors and the first section of the antenna was installed this month. The spire installation is expected to be completed by March 2013.

Day 362: Blue Abstract Squared - Dec 28. This flu-bug is certainly persistent. Still coughing, exhausted and low energy. More rain, sleet cold yesterday so experimented a bit more with oil and water for my daily photo.

Day 361: Abstract Squared - Dec 27. Rain, Sleet, Snow, Heavy wind yesterday - not an outside photo day. Nothing pretty or photogenic about it. Resorted to some oil and water play to get my shot for the day.

Day 360: Gulls on Ice - Dec 26. Frosty and cold outside on Christmas Day as the sun went down but warm and cozy inside with lots of family after a huge and delicious dinner hosted by my brother and his wife and sons.

Day 359: Christmas Wreath Card - Dec 25. Merry Christmas everyone.

Day 358: NYC Skyline Christmas Colors - Dec 24. Can't do a proper Christmas daily photo collection without including at least one skyline shot. Thanks for the comments on my Santa window shot. It was one of the shots that I printed for Christmas Cards. Day 357: NYC Christmas Window - Dec 23. Another photo from my NYC Christmas Window collection taken in mid-December. This Santa can be seen in the Lord and Taylor window.

Day 355: Macy's Christmas Window NYC - Dec 21. Thanks to everyone who posted get well messages yesterday. It is a bummer to be sick at this time of year. This is a photo taken of one of Macy's holiday windows earlier in Dec.

Day 354: Christmas Stockings - Dec 20. Woke up early and decided to try getting into the city for a few more Christmas shots but didn't get very far. Took a couple of sunrise photos and had to give it up due to headache, grumbling tummy and fever. This was shot earlier this month.

Day 352: Bryant Park NYC - Dec 18. Christmas Tree and Skating Rink at Bryant Park.

Day 351: Macys Holiday Window- Dec 17. Two of the colorful, charming puppets in the windows display at Macys NYC this year.

Day 350: NYC Central Park Dairy House- Dec 16. Quincy wrote that he plans to post a Christmas picture feach day from now until Christmas. I may just join him in doing this since I need to focus on the positive, loving, giving, healing that this holiday offers. This is an image of the Dairy House at Central Park taken earlier in the week. This Victorian cottage was designed and built to be a retreat for children and their caregivers. Beginning in the 19th Century, it was a source of dairy products and became a place for families to gather to drink milk and enjoy snacks. By the 1950's, the building had deteriorated so badly that it was turned into a maintenance shack. In 1979, the park admnistrators began restoration of the building and turned it into one of the park Visitor Centers.

Day 349: In Memoriam II- Dec 15. To honor those teachers and staff who gave their all to protect the children in their care. Prayers for you and your lpved ones, deepest condolences to your family and friends and 'thank you' for being such caring, dedicated and selfless people. You will have a special place in the hearts of the world,

Day 349: In Memoriam - Dec 15. Like so many others across the country and around the world, I'm shocked and deeply saddened by yesterday's tragic shooting of so many innocent people. My heart goes out to the children who went through this horrific experience amd have lost their friends and classmates; to the families and friends of those lost and to the community. As a parent and grandparent of young children I can only begin to imagine the pain that these people are going through. My prayers to all.

Day 348: Empire State Building - Dec 14. I'm more accustomed to photographing this building from a distance - from across the river in NJ. But was nearby yesterday with my sister who was going to Penn Station so I decided to get some shots. Thanks to everyone who commented on my posts the past two days,

Day 347: Empire State Building Robin Hood Relief Concert Fund Colors - Dec 13. The Empire State Building was 'in tune' last night with the Robn Hood Relief Fund 121212 Concert. It was lit to honor the fund and the new lighting system provided an interesting twist as the red and white colors rotated around the top of the spire. Hard to get the effect with still camera shots but fun to watch.

Day 346: Horse and Carriage Central Park - Dec 12.

Day 345: Star Lights Time Warner Center NYC - Dec 11. Stars hanging from the lobby ceiling at Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle NYC. The stars change color and are quite lovely to see. Will post more images later in the week.

Day 344: Hudson River Sunrise - Dec 10. Another day of rain, fog and smog today. This image is yesterday's sunrise over the Hudson River viewed from NJ looking north towards the GW bridge. Mostly the skies were cloud filled and dark but in this direction, there was some unusual sunrise color with the fog.

Day 343: White Birch Trees - Dec 9. Was intrigued by the etching effect of the tree branches against the foggy white sky.

Day 342: Manhattan Sunrise - Dec 8. A beautiful sunrise on Thursday this week. It has been rainy and foggy since then. The two spires are the New York LIfe Building on the left and the Met Life Clock Tower on the right.

Day 342: Hanukkah Greetings - Dec 8. To wish everyone who is celebrating a very happy holiday at the start of this wonderful Festival of Lights tradition.

Day 337: Anthropologie Holiday Window - Dec 7. These magical looking critters are seen in the Anthropoligie windows near Rockefeller Center. They are interspersed among the windows showing clothing and I almost passed didn't stop. But something in a corner window had caught my eye so went back and I'm glad that I got to see them. Don't know what they are made out of but the workmanship was beautiful.

Day 340: New York City Macy Holiday Window - Dec 6. A perfect day yesterday for walking in the city to view some of the holiday/Christmas windows. So much fun to watch the children looking at the puppets in the Macy windows. Thanks everyone for the nice comments about my skyline photo yesterday. The construction is about to begin and before long, that view will be full of cranes and within about two years, the Empire State Building will be blocked from view as far as I can tell from the news reports. .

Day 339: New York Skyline Dawn - Dec 5. Post #2 for today. Thanks everyone for all of the wonderful comments yesterday on my Empire State Building Fog and Holiday Ornament photos. The ESB shot was taken from the obervation deck at Rock Center. This shot, taken at dawn this morning, is from my normal viewing spot across the river in New Jersey. Sad to say that due to new major construction on the NY waterfront, this view will be drastically changed in the next two years.

Day 339: New York Celebrates Lion King - Dec 5. The Empire State Building was lit in bright yellow last night to recognize the 15th year of Lion King performances on Broadway. I'll also post a shot from this morning. Sadly, yesterday was the beginnng of the end of this iconic, magnificent view of the city skyline that can be seen from New Jersey. Groundbreaking was held yesterday for a massive new apartment and shopping complex on the west side of Manhattan, near the Hudson River. The complex comprises several city blocks and will have three huge towers one of which will be taller than the Empire State Building. Unfortunately those towers will obscure the view of the Empire State Building, completely destroying the New York City view as we know it. I think I'm in mourning.

Day 338: New York Holiday Spirit- Dec 4. Christmas Ornaments and decorations in NYC.

Day 337: New York Skyline- Dec 3. Morning fog in the city today and almost springlike temperatures. .

Day 336: DeKorte Park NJ Meadowlands- Dec 2. The walk to nowhere. This looks, at first glance, like a perfect, relaxing walk in the park on a foggy Sunday morning. Actually, the park is closed indefinitely due to storm damage and the walk was a cleanup effort by a group of volunteers. If you look closely, this boardwalk ends in the water. This is just one section of a boardwalk over the wetlands in the park that was dislodged and carried by the churning storm waters for almost a mile until it could go no further. Sadly, this is only one example of the severe damage the occurred in the park.

Day 335: Christmas Bears - Dec 1. Well, it is the first of December and Santa Bear and his helpers are getting into the Christmas spirit. Started a collection of Christmas bears when my grandchildren were babies and it still makes me smile when I take them out for the holidays.
