Day 090:- NYSkyine-NYMetsColors - March 31. The March lions and lambs have been battling it out this month with the lions wiinning. But with the NY Mets opening day today - it is certain that spring is here - I think. The Empire State Building lit in honor or the team's opening day.

Day 89:- Alphabet challenge-Letter K: March 30.

Day 088:- Bare Branches in the Rain: March 29. Another bare basics shot on another rainy day.

Day 087:- Spring Tree 2014: March 28. Well - April Fool's Day is only a few days away but Spring is surely having a good prank on us this year. Perhaps once the predicted weekend rains end here, she will pop out on April 1st and yell Surprise. I sure hope so. Doctor apt at noontime the stuck at a dead stop on the way home for more than a half hour due to a traffic accident. Amused myself for a few minutes by shutting off the engine, opening the window and taking photos of the bare tree branches along the side of the road against the white, rainy skies.

Day 086:- NY Skyiine Time Warner Towers : March 27. No chance for photos until late in day and this is sort of a default for lack of any other ideas. Since I've posted these towers before at sundown, decided to do a sepia toned for today. The globe photo posted for Tuesday this week is from the opposite side of the towers (the front) viewed from New York.

Day 085:- NY Skyiine Sundown: March 26. A colorful sundown at the end of a cloudy, windy, cold day. Note the cranes in the foreground. They signify the eventual end of this wonderful view that can be seen for miles from New Jersey across the Hudson River. A new multi-block residential, retail and office complex only a short distance from the river will feature two high rise buildings - one taller than the Empire State Building - that will sandwich and basically block the Empire State Building and change forever this view that has been an iconic scene of New York for decades.

Day 084:- NYC Trump Hotel and Tower Globe: March 25. This steel globe, by sculptor Kim Brandell, is located at Columbus Circle at the Southwest corner of Central Park. It is 30 feet in diameter and represents the current land mass of the glove.

Day 083:- NYC Central Park: March 24. Even though the tree branches are still bare and the grasses dried out and brown, there was a touch of color today around the Gapstow Bridge with the warm sunlight and reflections of the blue sky color in the water. It was encouraging to see glimpses of green with daffodil and tulip sprouts coming up through the ground. Lookng forward to getting back to get some photos of the park in spring dressup mode when the bulbs and shrubs bloom. Check it out in large size to see the figure at the end of the bridge taking a photo and two in the background under the bridge.

Day 082:- Three Gulls: March 23. What Spring? These gulls looked like I felt as I took a walk in the N.J. Meadowlands today. Cold, windy, gray skies - winter weather has definitely reappeared.

Day 081:- Canada Geese: March 22.

Day 080:- Mallard Drake: March 21 Some sun and warmer temps in the afternoon yesterday. Ice melted, snow almost gone. This mallard looks as though he is coming into his breeding plumage.

Day 079:- NY Skyline Morning Clouds: March 20. Happy First Day of Spring! You wouldn't know it, though, by the way things look around here in NYC tri-state area. I am so eager for some color and for the plants and flowers to begin to sprout up through the earth and on tree branches,.

Day 078: Winter Tree at Sundown- March 19. It is going to be one of those weeks - homebound due to contractor work being done and not much photo time. A last minute shot last night as the setting sun slipped below the horizon of where I was standing. Sepia toned.

Day 077: NYSkyline St. Patrick's Day Colors - March 18. The Empire State Building has been lit in green white and orange for St.Patrick's Day weekend, beginning at sundown on Friday until sunrise this morning. I've posted two shots - this one taken in the evening and one taken at dawn this morning.

Day 075: NYC Moonrise at Sundown - March 16. Pretty colors last evening as the pale moon rose over Manhattan during the sunrise golden hour. Post 2 for today.

Day 075: Alphabet Challenge Letter I - March 16. So far this simple letter has been the most challenging.

Day 074: Rng-Billed Gull - March 15. Late afternoon sun on this juvenile Ring-billed Gull and reflection standing on melting ice.

Day 073: Winter Trees and Branches Black and White - March 14. Tree branches and marsh grasses on a dreary, bitterly cold and windy day. As shot but converted to black and white with Nik Silver Efex.

Day 072: Abstract-Night Lights - March 13. No chance for daytime shots yesterday, so played a little with building lights at night.

Day 071: Canada Geese-In Sync - March 12. Even though we've had a few days here with warmer temps, there are still spots where the marshland is frozen. These two geese were drinking on a frozen but slushy pond.

Day 070: NYC Sundown Midtown - March 11. A pretty but hazy sundown last night looking across the river at midtown NYC. The tallest building in the background.is the new One57 - billed as the tallest residential building in the city at 90 floors. Ultimate luxury. The Park Hyatt Hotel will be based in the building.

Day 069: New York City TImes Square - March 10. Warmer temps brought out huge crowds of people to the city on Saturday morning. Some Topaz adjustment for artistic effect.

Day 068: Alphabet Challenge H - March 9. I don't have proper birding binoculars and had been looking at them online when I realized that a photo of them would work for my H post so I pulled out the pair that I've been using and snapped a photo. Looking forward to seeing the other alphabet posts for today.

Day 067: NY Skyline - Morning Reflections - March 8. YES - Sunshine and warmer temps to start the weekend here in the NY-NJ area.

Day 066: Winter's Bones - March 7. I know - a bizarre title but that's how the landscape looks to me this week. It's as though everything has shriveled and dried up down to the bare bones of its being - simply hanging on and holding on waiting for the sun and warmer days to be nurtured, pampered and nourished to bloom again. Perhaps in some ways it needs to get to this point each year where the seasons change so that we truly appreciate the wonder of the growth and renewal of spring. I'm sure looking forward to it.

Day 065: New York Skyline Sunrise - March 6. Nice to see the sun to start the day although it is very cold.

Day 064: Abstract Bubbleface - March 5. Time to buckle down and start working on tax paperwork so no outside photos today. Took a breal to work on oil and water abstracts - something that I haven't done in a while. Usually I strive to get abstract colors as opposed to bubble shots but I was amused by the face that appeared at one point and this was the shot that was captured.

Day 063: Mardi Gras - March 4. A little digital fun for Mardi Gras. A photo of a Mardi Gras mask that is on an old keychain of mine - against a piece of cardboard and colors saturated in PS. Topaz Star filter to highlight the bling.

Day 062: Ring-billed Gull n Flight - March 3. Well - the projected 6 or more inches of snow passed us by and went offshore. Was expecting to go out to get snow photos today.

Day 061: Allphabet Challenge - Letter G - March 2. This is the best that I could find to represent the letter G in the alphabet challenge. It is the side of a park bench (with lots of snow).

Day 060: NY Skyline Sunrise - March 1. Happy March - winter is almost over. But it was quite frigid this morning when this cruise ship came up the Hudson River to dock just after sunrise.
