Day 210: NY Skyline - The Sailing Lesson - July 31. Love watching these little sailboats bobbing along together on the river. I assume it is a sailing class.

Day 209: Butterfly Red Admiral - July 30.

Day 208: NY Skyline-Twilight Sunstars - July 29. No spectacular golden hour transformation yesterday but lots of little sunburst glints sparkling off windows as the sun went down and twilight approached. Had some fun with Topaz star filter to highlight them.

Day 207: Peaches at Farmer's Market - July 28. New Jersey produce is beginning to come into the market and it was a treat to see beautiful freshly picked fruits and vegetables at yesterday's farmer's market. thanks to all who commented on my sundown skyline post yesterday.

Day 202: Butterfly - Black Swallowtail - July 22 It has been a great few days in terms of finding at least one to photo each day and they have been cooperative.

Day 201: Butterfly -Pearl Crescent - July 21. So nice to the butterflies, While we don't see a large variety here - each one that does make this part of NJ home is beautiful in its own right. This little guy is hardly bigger than my thumbnail with wings up.

Day 200: Butterfly -Viceroy - July 20. It took a few hours of outside time yesterday before I came across a few butterflies. This one is a beautiful Viceroy - worth waiting for.

Day 199: Butterfly -Cabbage White on Purple Coneflower - July 19.

Day 198: Butterfly -Red Admiral - July 18. Finally yesterday, I was happy to see some indication that butterflies are arriving - sightings of a Monarch, a Silver-spotted Skpper and this Red Admiral.

Day 197: Clear-winged Moth on Butterfly Bush - July 17 I wonder if this is what the world looks like to one of these moths or a bee or butterfly as they flutter and feed amount the flowers.

Day 196: Rabbit Portrait - July 16. This little rabbit was not the least bit camera shy and let me get a few shots before he wandered off into the shrubs.

Day 195: Yellow Daylily - July 15. Thanks to those who commented on my World Cup-Moonrise post yesterday. I had been tracking the moonrise times and positions for two days before but the moonrise occurred too early on the prior evenings to get the shot I wanted. Knowing that the ESBuilding would be showing the World Cup winner colors, I decided to try one more time to capture the moon and ESB together even though the moonrise was late in the evening. I was set up with my tripod and waited and waited but could see nothing - the clouds were totally obscuring the moonrise. Was about to give it up when finally the moon popped up above the clouds and after a few more minutes, it was lined up with the spire of the building. Lucky, lucky.

Day 194: NYC-Moonstruck Germany Colors - July 14. Empire State building lit in Germany's colors last night in honor of their World Cup win. The moon seemed to be helping in the celebration as it broke through the clouds not long after moonrise time.

Day 191: Summer Afternoon Reflections - July 11. Went out mid-afternoon hoping to find some butterflies or birds but no luck. Knew it was not the best time of day but it is what I had available. Lots of still water and reflections though.

Day 190: Wildflower Patch - July 10. Black-eyed Susans and Purple Coneflowers are taking center stage in the wildflower patches and gardens here. Such a cheerful sight.

Day 189: Purple Coneflowers - July 9. Thanks to those who commented on my 'spider' post yesterday. I still do not what I photographed. When I first saw it, I thought it was a piece of fluff that had come off a tree or shrub. But when I looked closer and watched for a while, I would have sworn that a few of the 'legs' moved and it did look like some webbing underneath. Also it was an extremely windy day and I figured that something thad had blown onto the blossom would also quickly blow off but it didn't. In retrospect, perhaps I should have picked it off the flower to get a closer look.

Day 188: Spider on Hydrangea Blossom- July 8. Can anyone identify what type of spider this is? I almost missed seeing it because it was so tiny and blended in so well with the blossom. Smaller than a dime and the legs were not much thicker than strands of thread.

Day 186: Phlox Flower- July 7. Liked the delicate petals and colors of this flower that I saw nexgt to a parking lot yesterday.

Day 185: Alphabet Challenge-Letter Y - July 6. Found Ys while sitting under a large patio umbrella in NYC.

Day 184: NYSkyline-Macy Fireworks Display - July 5. The skies cleared in the evening in perfect time for the fireworks display on the East River. Sadly, we on the NJ side of the Manhattan island didn't see a huge display but it was still fun to watch those that did show up above the skyline.

Day 184: American Flag-GW Bridge - July 4. Happy July 4th to all of you USA Smuggers. Raining here but did get some shots of the bridge and the flag this morning while the skies were somewhat clear. Doesn't look too good for fireworks photos though tonight.

Day 182: NYC Approaching Storm - July 3. Amazing skies as a thunder and lightning storm apprached last evening and the world turned to black and white. It was a wild storm and too much lighning to stay outside for photos. Weehawkin NJ in the foreground. This is one of two posted shots.

Day 181: Butterfly Garden - July 2. Lot of flowers begninning to bloom but no butterflies as yet. Interesting apricot colored coneflowers in the foreground and bright orange butterfly weed plants and pink conflowers in the background, with buttonbush and many other native shrubs getting ready to bloom. .
