Day 365- NY Skyline-Night Christmas Colors - Dec 31. Christmas colors of red and dress adorn the Empire State building until January 6 with the exception of New Year's Eve making the skyline cityscape a very festive one. The last post for 2014. Happy New Year everyone. Best wishes for a 2015 full of good health, fun, and creative photo times.
Day 364- NY Skyline-Sundown - Dec 30. Beautiful sundown color. I expect that I will be boring everyone with ongoing skyline shots as those cranes and the construction move ever higher. View in large size to see some of the construction details at the borrom of the frame.
Day 363- NJ Meadowlands Winter Pastel - Dec 29. It is getting to the time of year here in the Northeast where it is difficult to find landscape or nature images with any color or interest so it will be a challenge to find subjects going forward until spring. This is a late afternoon shot as the sun was going down of reeds, scrub and reflections in the New Jersey Meadowlands.
Day 362- NYSkyline-Tribute to Slain Officers - Dec 28. Last night the Empire State building tower was lit in blue with the spire featuring red and white revolving lights to simulate a police car flashing light. The colors were to honor the two New York police officers who where ambushed and killed while sitting in their police car.
Day 361 Tree and Afternoon Sun - Dec 27. What a treat the weather was today. Wonderful to have a walk in the warm late afternoon sun.
Day 360- NY Skyline-One World Trade Sundown- Dec 26. Not new subject matter and similar to images that I've posted before but after all of the days of rain and fog that we've had, I couldn't resist some pretty sundown color. A view of lower Manhattan and One World Trade Center in sundown light viewed from New Jersey.
Day 359- Christmas Sundown - Dec 25. Heading home after a delightful Christmas Day with family. Taken at Lake Hopatcong N.J. in the blue hour as a pale sun was setting.
Day 358- Christmas Greetings - Dec 24. On this Christmas Eve, sending my warmest wishes to everyone that your holidays are filled with the spirit of them - Peace, Family, Community, Culture, Love, Joy, Good Will and Belief in the good in the world,
Day 357- Nativity Scene - Dec 23. A nativity scene on the church lawn in a neighboring town. The creche is empty until the Christmas morning. For God's Child and anyone else who is Christmas Windows and displays for this year. Still have a few more to process but this is the bulk of it. http://www.geoghanart.com/NewYorkCity/New-York-Christmas-2014/46120761_BzJdTv#!i=3738454289&k=NjkNLgN
Day 356 - Saks Holiday Window - Dec 22 This year the Saks Fifth Avenue holiday windows feature fairy tale characters set in an art-deco New York setting. This is the Big Bad Wolf from LIttle Red Riding Hood disguised as grandma.
Day 355 - Paper Mill Playhouse - Dec 21. A fun afternoon at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn New Jersey where a new musical production of "Elf" is being perfomred. Great fun - beautiful top of the line stage settings and lighting, a Broadway seasoned cast, fun mustic and my granddaughter in the ensemble as one of a few child elves.
Day 354- Chritmas Ornament Display - Dec 20. Was attracted to how the colors reflected on the ornaments and the lights and shadows - an almost abstract. This is a segment of a large display of variously colored ornaments that I came across in a neighboring town.
Day 353- NY Time-Warner Center Christmas Star Lights - Dec 19. The entry lobby area of the Time-Warner complex is decorated for the holidays with twelve 14 foor stars than continually change color in coordination with holiday music. The stars hang from the ceiling of the 150 foot space. The view through the windows shows Columbus Circle at the Southwest corner of Central Park. This view includes only 3 of the 12 stars and a very small segment of the view through the windows. Unfortunately due to restaurants on the second and third floors that overlook the lobby and the view, there seems to be no way to get a photo of the entire set of stars and outside view.
Day 352- NY Rockefeller Center Tree - Dec 18. A view of the Rockefeller Center mall with the tree and statue of Prometheus in the background. Taken about a half hour after sunrise. Was hoping for a blue sky but didn't happen. Thanks to all who have commented on my posts in the past few days and apologies for limited comments. On and off internet connection problems - hopefully corrected today.
Day 351- NY Skyline_Blue for Chanukah - Dec 17. Happy Chanukah to all of my SM friends who celebrate this wonderful holiday.
Day 350- NYC Bloomingdale's Holiday Window - Dec 17. A segment of a Bloomingdale's holiday window with cutouts of the Empire State Building and other skyscrapers and the New Year's Eve Waterford ball that drops in Times Square.
Day 349- NYC Bergdof Goodman Holiday Window - Dec 16. This year the Bergdof Goodman holiday theme is based on celebrating the arts and there are windows devoted to music, painting, literature, theater, architecture, etc. Absolutely beautiful - some of the best I've seen that are not child focused. This is an image from the music window which feature many brass instruments and the woman blowing her horn. The relections from the buildings across the street give this image a very surrealistic effect. God's Child I haven't forgotten - I'm still photographing and will post the link to all of the NYC holiday images as soon as I've completed my project for this year.
Day 348- Christmas Bears - Dec 14. Some multi-tasking - a quick photo of Chrismas Bears while cooking some party food for a neighbor.
Day 347- Red Pointsettia - Dec 13. Getting behind in my processing and posting. Trying to get caught up.
Day 346: NY Skyline-Pre-sundown - Dec 11. Storm clearing out finally making for interesting skies just before sundown time.
Day 345- Bowl of Oranges - Dec 10. .A inside photo on a rainy, snowy, windy, cold day.
Day 344- NYC Holidays - corner of Sixth Avenue and 49th Street - Dec 9. A digitally painted image of a popular corner of midtown Manhattan at holiday time.
Day 343- NYC Giant Christmas Balls - Dec 8. One of my favorite subjects at holiday time to get a photograph of. These giant red ball ornaments are displayed every year and are one of the most popular displays in the city.
Day 342- New York Christmas Tree - Dec 7 A scene of the Rockefeller Christmas tree and the crowds there to see it and enjoy the holiday decorations around the Rockefeller Plaza Mall. I decided, against my better judgement, to go into the city just before dusk to try to get holiday photos of the tree and environment but the crowds were so large and so much congestion that it was impossible to get a clear view of the tree. I'm a day behind in my posting - need to catch up.
Day 341 - Holiday Music Composite - Dec 6 . Some rainy day play working on a composite using a photo of a piano and some piano music to make this composite.
Day 340- NYSkyline Sunrise - Dec 5. Rainy weather predicted for the next 4 or 5 days so was hoping to catch a sunrise while I had the chance.
Day 339- Urban Wall Art - Dec 4. A section of a painted wall in Hoboken New Jersey showing a group of brownstones.
Day 338- Fogbound - Dec 3. An eerie sight this morning to look outside and see absolutely nothing. Felt like I was living in a cloud. Thanks for the comments on yesterdays post of the Macy's holiday window. Still sorting and processing the shots from that visit to the city and will post the link once they are on SM for those who want to see more of the window figures and displays.
Day 337: New York-Macy's Holiday Window - Dec 2. A scene from Macy's holiday windows this year. The theme is Santa's Journey to the Stars and the windows depict the samll boy with his magical telescope seeing Santa's visit to planets in the solar system as they celebrate the holidays.
Day 336- Surfing Mallard- Dec 1. Funny to watch this guy yesterday. He repeatedly swam around and back and forth in this position skimming the water with his beak. None of the other few ducks were swimming in this way so I need to do some research to find out why. Happy December!
