Red Sunflower and Buds

Sunflower Maze Sign

Beach Sundown Tranquility

A lovely time of day to be walking on the beach with the sun setting behind and casting it's warm colors onto the clouds, ocean surf and beach sand. On this day and moment - it was a world of pastel blue, peach and gray hues that gently changed to twilight blues. So wonderful!!

Timeless Layers of Ocean Tide

Day after day, month after month, year after year - the tide rolls in and out with its own rhythm, a seemingly endless cycle, each moment different than the one before and the one to come. Testing the Tribute Lights

On the evening of September 11, the twin blue beams of the 9/11 Tribute in Light will once again shine into the heavens as far as the eye can see in honor of the 21st anniversary of the attacks. It takes 30 technicians, electricians, and other specialists more than a week to install the lights and, after a tip from a friend, I got a quick photo the other evening when the lights were being tested. Only one of the beams is visible because the other is directly behind it (due to the land curvature at the tip of Manhattan) and can't be seen from this view. Tribute in Light is an art installation created in remembrance of the September 11 attacks. It consists of 88 vertical searchlights arranged in two columns of light to represent the Twin Towers.

Sunflower Field Path

A view of one of the fields of sunflowers in bloom at a farm in Northwest New Jersey. The farmer who owns and plants the fields has a maze cut through the fields each year with a specific theme. On the day this was photographed only a section of the overall group of fields was in bloom and I hope to get back for photographs when the rest of the buds have opened.

Towers of Gold NYC

As the earth turns, a very few times a year these towers are spotlighted and appear to be selectively turned to gold by the setting sun. The twin skyscrapers are the Time Warner Towers located at Columbus Circle NYC. In the foreground, along the Hudson River, are ship piers and the Intrepid Air and Space Museum.
