Manhattan Skyline at Sunrise
The skyline of the West side of Manhattan, NYC, and the Hudson River at sunrise with the towers, waterfront piers and Intrepid Museum silhouetted by the colorful sky. The bright sun peeks out from behind vividly hued clouds of orange, yellow, gold and gray-blue as it shows itself over the skyscraper horizon.
Sunflower Showoff
A vibrantly colorful yellow gold and orange-hued sunflower standing tall, framed against a blue sky in a field of the flowers. It's sunflower bloom time here in the New Jersey area. With the very dry weather, the blooms are not lasting long. Found a few bright and colorful flowers in a farm field a few days ago. Another field should be in full bloom by the end of this week and looking forward to getting photos.
NYC Cruise Ship and Skyscrapers
The huge 1004 foot cruise ship, Carnival Magic, berthed along the Hudson River, seems to dwarf the skyscrapers of the city. A section of the Intrepid Air and Space Museum is seen in the Lower right corner of the frame.

Rainbow State to State NY-NJ
Another view of the beautiful rainbow seen on Monday evening as a rain storm moved through the earea. A rainbow arcs high in the sky over the Hudson River and the Manhattan waterfront, with one end in Weehawken, New Jersey as a rain squall moved through the area . The first warm lights of the golden hour, combined with the reflection of the rainbow hues, created an amazing array of color and light on both sides of the river.
Rainbow Across the Hudson River
Just at the start of the sundown golden hour, with the air full of haze and mist after a late afternoon rainfall, a rainbow made an appearance as skies began to clear. It reached across the Hudson River from the New Jersey waterfront to New York City. A second rainbow in the distance can be seen in the upper right corner. The first rainbow that I've seen this summer.
Zinnia Garden

NY-NJ Sundown Spectacle
Cities on both sides of the lower Hudson River topped by a sky full of gorgeous blue, red and peach colored skies at sundown after a rain storm. Right foreground is Hoboken NJ , with skyscrapers of Jersey City in the distance. On the left lower Manhattan and one World Trade Center.

Vintage Painted Carousel Pony
One of the most elaborately decorated horses/animal figures at the Seaside Heights Carousel. This carousel is over 100 years old with an interesting history. It was almost destroyed but at the last moment was purchased and carefully restored. My photos were taken during the early dinner hour and there had been several rain squalls late that afternoon, so many visitors were most likely giving their kids naps or feeding them, hence the few people seen. By disk, I expect it was quite crowded again.

Black-eyed Susan Landscape
A glorious array of Black-eyed Susan flowers at the peak of bloom. Most of the flowers around the parks here have dried and are going to seed but this patch of golden yellow blooms is still a treat to see.
