The old mule bridge that crossed over the Morris Canal at historic Waterloo Village framed by a bounty of autumn foliage color. The bridge was used to walk the mules, horses and their handlers to the other side of the canal where they went up an inclined path to meet their barges that were being lifted up the incline via the canal lock process. The barge captains and the mules were reunited with their barges at the top of the incline to continue their journey on the next section of the canal.
