Cherry Blossoms Branch Brook Park 2012
Branch Brook Park Cherry Blossoms: This partk in Newark and Belleville NJ, nicknamed Cherry Blossom Land, is renowned for the cherry blossom display in the Northern section of the park each Spring. This is the first time that I've had the opportunity to see the display and it was quite beautiful, but very challenging to try to capture the overall experience of the many blooming trees with a camera. I'm looking forward to getting back next year to see this lovely spectacle again. The ornamental cherry trees were not part of the original Olmstead park design, In the late 1920's, Carolyn Bamberger Fuld made the gift of more than 2000 of these trees to be planted in the northern section of the park. Current published information varies with regard to the number of these lovely trees in the park but a park renovation is underway including a plan to add to the number of trees.
