I had to snap this photo because it is a perfect example of the activity being carried out all through the park. - amateur and professional alike taking family photos, photos to celebrate an event such as weddings, engagements and simply to capture the magnificanet beauty of the cherry blossoms.

Cherry Blossom and Cathedral Zen
A cold spring day, threatening rain with a white sky, still air and mirrored reflections - how could one not sit and glory in the quiet tranquility of this scene and say a prayer of thanks for the moment of beauty. Winter coat, hat and scarf were required equipment to capture this scene at Branch Brook Park Lake with the Cathefral Basilica of the Sacred Heard in the background and at the center of this lovely urban landscape scene.
Cherry Blossom and Cathedral Medication
White cloud-filled skies gave way to pastel blue in the still air of a crisp spring day at Branch Brook Park Lake at the start of the cherry blossom season. With very little air flow to move the water, beautiful mirrored reflections of the blossoming trees and Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart created a tranquil, meditative scene that truly was cause for a big thanks for the moments of beauty. The mood didn't last long as skies became brighter and a chilly breeze ruffled the water to break up the reflections - creating another 'look' and photo opportunity of the urban landscape.

Branch Brook Bark in well know for the beautiful ornamental cherry tree display. The cathedral is the fifth-largest cathedral in North America. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark.Construction began in 1899 and was finished in 1954. The original design called for an English-Irish Gothic Revival church, but plans were later modified in favor of a French Gothic Revival style.
