Hoboken as Art
Hoboken NJ is a vibrant city filled with college students, young professionals who commute into NYC and a familes who have lived there for generations. Known as the "One Square Mile City' or as the birthplace of Frank Sinatra, the city boasts a wonderful waterfront park, many renovated and new buildings, eateries to satisy any palate and boutiques as well as beautiful old historic brownstones and other architecture. Even though I commuted through Hoboken for many years, I was always on a bus or rushing and never took the time to explore the photographic possibilities. Recently, I decided to make it a project to explore some of the old architecture of Hoboken and photograph it in a manner that emphasizes the artisty in and on the facade of the buildings. Some of these images are presented in their original form and some have been digitally enhanced or converted to black and white or sepia-tone to reflect a mood or to bring out the architectural details in the builidings. Hope you enjoy viewing the images that I have posted to start and that you will come back and check again as I add more.
