Sunflowers NJ 2012
Sunflowers New Jersey 2012: The N.J. Audubon S.A.V.E. program, in conjunction with N.J. farmers, is once again providing some spectacular sights in the countryside of New Jersey as the program sunflower fields are coming into bloom. The farmers grow and harvest the sunflower seeds for sale through the Audubon program to provide locally grown fresh bird seed. The sunflower seed sales provide income for the farmers and provide funds for N.J. Audubon grasslands and field restoration and preservation. For more information about the S.A.V.E. program look here: http://www.njaudubon.org/SectionConservation/SAVEBirdseed.aspx. One of the farms, in Augusta N.J., offers a wonderful sunflower maze and if one visits the maze there is a great little cafe and bakery to have lunch across the street from the maze called Rosaline's Farm and Bakery.
