Iris Mount Timp Beauty

A close up view of the center heart of an iris named Mount Timp. This historic iris, cu;tivated by Tell Muhlenstein and introduced in 1945, is a glorious rainbow of colors with yellow, each, pink and mauve hues in the standards, yellow beard and white falls edged and speckled with purple and blue and patches of a very pale blue shading on the white. One of those beautiful irises that is beautiful overall to see but where a very close look reveals the magnitufe of color range and variations in one flower.

Bearded Iris-Miss California

A portrait of the lovely bi-color tall bearded iris named Miss California. This pink, rose, amd mauve hued flower with a gold and lavender beard was hybridized by Carl Salbach and registered in 1937. This photograph was taken at Presby Memorial Iris Garden in Montclair New Jersey.

Ivory Bearded Iris Patrice

A close up of the center part of a soft and gentlly hued tall bearded iris named Patrice. This iris, hybridized by DeForest and introduced in 1946, has a ivory white base with standards edged in a brownish pink and falls speckled with bronze and pink. The beard and throat area are yellow. Iris-Frieda Mohr

After his death, this iris named Frieda Mohr after his wife, was introduced by an iris hybriderzer friend Mitchell. A lovely iris in rich shades of lavender and purple with a yellow beard. A lovely, delicated hued lavender-pink tall bearded iris named Pink Plume. This iris was introduced in 2951 by hybridizer Schreiner.

Iris Cayenne Capers

A portrait of a tall bearded iris that I believe, is named Cayenne Capers. The dominant colors range from burgundy to red pepper to a coppery brown wit a orange bronze beard. Cultivaed by R. Gibson in 1959. .

Iris Bronze Peacock

A close up of the flower center of a lovely, colorful tall bearded iris named Bronze Peacock. It truly does stand out in the garden with deep purple-bronze standards, volet falls with bronze edging, a yellow beard and all of these lovely tones and variations of those colors in the center. Bronze Peacock was introduced by Terry Aitken and registered in 2003. It was awarded an Honorable Mention in 2006.

A close up macro view of a beautiful pink iris named Rosy Wings. Hybridized by Merton L. Gage in 1935, the historic iris blends bronze, pale washed rose with deeper rose red in the falls and a yellow-orange beard.

Iris-Who Needs a Prince

A charming, jaunty, colorful bearded iris in yellow, gold and plum purple named Who Needs a Prinnce. This iris was hybridized by Schreiner and introduced in 2013. The Schreiner catalogue describes it as follows "a unique color combination, in which the yellow zonal pattern and beard predominate. The melding of lemon yellow standards and plum violet falls makes for an unusual variegata. Very tall – 40”, it has heavy substance, strong fragrance and big flowers."
