Oak Leaf Hydrangea Leaves and Raindrops
A view of Oakleaf Hydrangea leaves as they begin to show fall color. On the last day of September, an all day rain shower coats the plants with raindrops. The Oakleaf gets its name from the shape of its beautiful large leaves. These leaves often turn colors of brilliant red, orange, yellow and burgundy in the fall if planted in a sunny location with a little afternoon shade. It is one of only a few hydrangea shrubs that are native to the United States. During the summer bloom season, the shrub produces white flower clusters that gradually darken to pink.
