DAY 196: Empire State Building Moonrise - July 16 2011. Well - not what I had hoped for today. Have been tracking the moonrise position for months waiting for it to come up close to the Empire State Building at the right time for a photo. Tonight was my guess for a good chance. Unfortunately, the cloud cover didn't permit it to happen the way I had hoped. The moon emerged for only a minute - enough for two shots before disappearing back under the clouds. The colors of the Empire State Building are for the Women's World Cup - East/West side colors of red and white for Japan and North/South colors for USA.
DAY 196: NY Skyline-Sundown Composite - July 16 2011. While waiting for that perfect moonrise shot that didn't happen, I took some close ups of a couple of the most well known NY Skyline buildings during the sunset "Golden Hour" - all taken within a few minutes of each other. Interesting how quickly the sky color changes. Actually - when more time will post each one separately in my Skyline Sundown Gallery - such spectacular color - awesome to watch the colors change.
DAY 194: Abstract - July 15 2011. A small section of a much larger mosaic.
DAY 193: NY Skyline at Night - July 14 2011. Another perfect night for a skyline photo.
DAY 192: Rainbow NY/NJ - July 13 2011. Thought that I was done with my PAD today. But Mother Nature put on a show that I couldn't resist. First massive storm clouds, then rain, then the river was totally obscured and THEN a spectacular rainbow that was huge - This image is the right side of the rainbow in lower Manhattan, with Hoboken in the foreground, the other image that I posted is the left side of the rainbow which ir probably well into Central Park from this view - a span of probably 2.5 miles. Totally awesome. Saw the clouds building, left dinner on the table, grabbed camera, got outside and kept shooting :). All in about 20 minutes. WOW - so beautiful to see, especially with the sundown color.
DAY 192: Rainbow NY Hudson River - July 13 2011. Thought that I was done with my PAD today. But Mother Nature put on a show that I couldn't resist. First massive storm clouds, then rain, then the river was totally obscured and THEN a spectacular rainbow that was huge - This image is the left side of the rainbow in upper Manhattan, the other image posted shows the opposite end from the view of lower Manhattan with Hoboken NJ in the foreground. This rainbow covered a span of at least 2.5 milles, probably more. Totally awesome. Saw the clouds building, left dinner on the table, grabbed camera, got outside and kept shooting :). All in about 20 minutes. WOW - so beautiful to see, especially with the sundown color.
DAY 192: Peach House - July 13 2011. The off-center angle and morning shadows in the blue entrance of this peach-colored stucco house provided interesting color, angles and lines.
DAY 191: NYSkyline - Man versus Nature - July 12 2011.
DAY 190: Abstract - July 11 2011. Took a photo of a display of colorful scarves and used Photoshop distort filter to create this abstract perspective.
