JANUARY 2011 - Photo A Day : "A Photo a Day in 2011" - I have challenged myself to record a sample of the the cheerful, funny, fun, beautiful, wondrous, and - yes- ordinary things that I'm grateful to be able to experience each day. Beginning on January 2, 2011, I hope to be lucky enough and creative enough to capture and post an image for each day as my way of appreciating and saying 'thank you' for the small gifts of life. Some of them will be obvious as I search for subjects - the things that I take for granted in my home, for example. But clearly, as the days go by, I will need to open my mind and broaden my view to come up with new places, subjects and ideas within the local environment. As the month begins, I'm looking forward to exploring the beauty and pleasures to be found in a typically cold, gray and dreary winter month.

FEBRUARY 2011 - Photo A Day : Photo a Day - February 2011. Looking back, January was certainly a month for snow and cold winter photos including indoor still life images when it was too nasty to get outdoors. February is beginning in much the same way with rain, sleet and icy roads. So once again, I start the month with a still life of strawberries and thinking happy thoughts of the warm, sunny weather in which they were produced.

MARCH 2011-Photo A Day : My Photo-A-Day project for March got off to a nice start today. Contrary to the popular saying, March came in like a lamb - a bit chilly but sunny and lovely. A perfect day to be outside for a while and watch the birds as they become more active, getting ready for Spring. I'm sure that the month will hold many ups and downs in terms of weather and photo opportunities but I'm looking forward to the challenge of finding ways to capture a sense of March in NE New Jersey.

OCTOBER 2011 - Photo A Day : Thoughts of beautiful fall foliage and flowers are a mighty motivation to refresh and renew my enthusiam for my Photo-A-Day project as the tenth month of this commitment begins. So far, each month has offered challenges and joys unique to that time of year and I expect that October will certainly have its own special spirit. I'm looking forward to exploring my local world of autumn color as the month progresses.
