Day 227: Sunflower Closeup - August 15. I'm fascinated y the detailed patterns in these flower heads.

Day 225: Tree Swallows - August 13. Who AM I? I've had several comments that I mis-identified the swallows in my photo posted for August 13. Here are a few more shots of the birds, taken over the course of about 20 minutes It was cloudywith the sun popping out now and then. I think perhaps the other image was taken at a moment when the sun was hotter and the shadows deeper on the right hand bird. I still think Tree Swallows versus Barn Swallows as others have suggested, I am definitey not a birder and no expert on bird identification. All I know is that there was a guy next to me with a 600mm lens and I was so wishing it was mine. Would have loved to seen the closeups he got of these little beauties..

Day 225: Tree Swallows - August 13. Actually these are swallows not sparrows as I originally labeled them. A result of rushing and not paying attention to what I was typing. Caught these cute tree swallows in early morning light yesterday. They were perching on a reed bent over the water swinging back and forth in the breeze.

Day 223: Sunflower - August 11. This newly opened sunflower was a cheerful sight with its bright green center after a heavy rainstorm ended yesterday afternoon.
