Day 237: Sunflower Fun - August 24. Went to yet another sunflower field today - one more of the NJ Audubon SAVE program fields. This was the 'most fun' photo of the day.

Day 236: Butterfly Common Buckeye - August 23.

Day 236: Red Gerbera Daisy - August 23. I included a small gerbera daisy plant in a pot with other types of flowers for my balcony garden back in the spring and I finally have a flower. So had to celebrate that with my picture for the day.

Day 235: Butterfly Least Skipper - August 22. I love watching the little Skipper butteflies. I believe this one is a Least Skipper - smaller than a dime

Day 234: Butterfly Painted Lady - August 21. Lots of these pretty Painted Lady butterflies congregating on the butterfly bushes yesterday and today.

Day 233: Butterfly Common Buckeye - August 20. First one that I've seen this season.

Day 231: Forster's Tern Juvenile - August 19. The Southbound shorebird migration has begun and lots of little peeps and yellowlegs around the NJ Meadowlands this week. Terns, great egrets, snowy egrets as well. To revisit the swallow identification issue from last week, I learned that there is indeed a barn swallow nest near where the tree swallow normally hang out. So for those who commented on my identification error - you were right.

Day 230: Black Swallowtail butterfly- August 18.

Day 229: Canada Goose - August 17. This Canada Goose made a great subject sitting in still water with a clear reflection and bathed in golden sundown color.
